I was at work on June 1st 2000, & I was putting new freight onto the shelves in my Dept. I leaned over to place something onto the bottom shelf & went into a brief “trance” where I heard my younger sister’s voice saying, “Get right with God. Get right with God. Because one day you’ll be laying in your death bed, thinking of things that you hadn’t thought of in years. (Meaning, things I would want to repent of) Get right with God. Get right with God. Get right with God.” In this trance, I actually saw myself laying in a hospital bed, surrounded by people I didn’t recognize but knew as my loved ones, (Over the years, I’ve come to believe that they were my brothers, my husband, & my grown children), & I knew that I was in a terminal state. After seeing this, I snapped out of it & immediately looked at my watch & it was 11:00 am, to the tick-tock second! I shook it off, thought to myself, “Well, THAT was weird!”, & continued putting away the merchandise. My shift ended & I went home to my boyfriend & started dinner. There was an urgent knock on my door & my boyfriend went to answer it. My Grandmother pushed her way into our apartment & called me into the front room. She told my boyfriend to put his arms around me because I was going to need him like I’ve never needed anyone before in my entire life. This scared me! Then she told me the most horrible thing I’ve ever heard in my life… “Baby, your sister has been killed.” I immediately assumed it was a car accident, but she went on to say, “It looks like Norman did it.” Norman was a family friend of ours who had been going through some tough times in the recent months before. My sister had just helped his wife move out of their home after he had become physically abusive to her. Norman waited for my sister to come home from taking her boyfriend to work, & forced her into her apartment where he beat her, strangled her, then shot her twice in the head. She was only 18 years old.
He was later convicted of her murder on what would’ve been her 20th birthday & sentenced to 50 years in prison.
Since then, I have seen my sister in several dreams, including a dream where she pointed to a blank space in a family photo & said, “I’m right here! I’m right here!”, indicating that she was there during the family event. I should probably also add that I hadn’t had that photo developed & hadn’t even seen it yet! I was stunned to open my package of photos & finding that picture in there- just add I had seen it in my dream.

We are also of the LDS Faith, & also believe in forever families! I am incredibly grateful for this knowledge as it fills me with hope & anticipation!

I absolutely LOVE this story!! Thank you so very much for sharing. During one of my book tour, I heard lots and lots of angel stories, after-life testimonies, and even during-life testimonies such as yours. I believe we receive these gifts because we are meant to share them. Heavenly Father wants us to know that our eternity is for real and He shares glimpses here and there so we can have strength in our faith. I love you dear sister, and I hope others will share their stories as well.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your testimony. You should write a book or a short story and send it to Ensign!!! I can’t help you with a short story, but I can help you with a book.

Heavenly Father loves you and knew you would need His strength. I cannot imagine the pain you are suffering. But our Savior, Jesus Christ, and our Father, KNOW you and found a way to touch you. I know this is a true story, because I felt The Holy Ghost as I read what you wrote.

Lots of love and hugs, and if I can help you in any way please let me know. I will be here for you.

        Blessings,
